Items At Areas-Start

Disney's Pop Century Resort is one of the four themed value resorts aimed at lower prices but still has that Disney quality to it. The resort is themed around American cultural icons from different decades. The icons are then super sized and placed around the buildings that are in its decade. There are two phases to the resort with the first phase already completed. The second phase has been on hold since 9/11 due to a drop in tourism[1].

Classic Years - Phase I

The first phase has been named the Classic Years and includes the 50s to the 90s. There are 2 to 3 buildings per decade and include popular phrases of that decade written in a font style from that decade. The phase currently has 2880 rooms. The resort has 3 pools as well that fit in with the themes; A flower, a laptop, and bowling pin[2].

Legendary Years - Phase II

The second phase will eventually house the decades of 1900 to 1940 and be similar in setup to the first phase. The two are connected by a bridge that crosses the lake. It was originally going to have 2880 rooms as well but has changed to a more 'suite' setup. This setup has also been done at Disney's All-Star Music Resort mainly for Disney Vacation Club members. The suite setup will have a master bedroom, two bathrooms and a small kitchenette. Most of the building has been completed and it seems that the Legendary Years could have opened any time. Currently the buildings sit empty and unused since construction stopped in 2002. Some details have been shared such as the 3 pools and their shape; one a Route 66 sign, a soda bottle and a crossword puzzle[3].
