Beastly Kingdom was to be a land where Camp Minnie-Mickey is located. It was going to be themed towards fantasy characters and mainly dragons.

Reasons it was never built

Rumors tied the development of the land to how well the movie Reign of Fire did in the theaters; it did poorly.

Other rumors said Disney management was waiting to see how well Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure did. If it had done well, Disney would have probably authorized the construction. Unfortunately and fortunately for Disney, Islands of Adventure never drew the crowds away from Walt Disney World^[1].
